Immediate Past Executive Chairman of PwC

Dato’ Faiz is the Executive Chairman of PwC Malaysia and is also an Assurance Partner.

Dato’ Faiz is very active in the profession and the accounting world. Amongst other roles, he is the past President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), Council Member of ICAEW UK, past Chairman of the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB) and is the Chair of the Islamic Finance Consultative Group of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB). He is also the Chairman of the Kuala Lumpur Business Club (KLBC) and a member of the Labuan International Business Financial Centre (Labuan IBFC) International Advisory Panel.

Dato’ Faiz was educated in Malaysia and the UK and read law at the University of Durham before being called to the English Bar. He is a member of the Worshipful Company of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Nottingham.

Dato’ Abdul Rauf Rashid is the Managing Partner of Ernst & Young PLT in Malaysia. He also leads the EY Asean Assurance practice, which comprises over 250 partners and 7,000 personnel in 11 Asean countries.

Dato’ Rauf has been in professional practice for more than 28 years, providing various types of assurance and consulting services to large international, Government-linked and local clients in various industries, in particular, the financial markets.

He is the former President of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and served as the Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

Dato’ Rauf graduated with Honours in Accounting & Economics from the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and a member of the MICPA and MIA.

Datuk Johan Idris is the Managing Partner of KPMG in Malaysia and serves as a member of the KPMG ASPAC Board and a Council Member of KPMG International.

His professional experience transcends Malaysia to include the USA and Indonesia. He has led and managed complex assurance assignments locally and internationally and continues to work on various Fortune 500 engagements. His breadth of expertise covers the automotive, oil and gas, palm oil plantation, food and beverage, transportation (toll operations), retail, manufacturing, technology, and power generation sectors.

From 2013 to 2015, he was the President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA), and later sat on the MIA panel for audit review license. He had also contributed to the Financial Stability Executive Committee of Bank Negara Malaysia, where he was a member.

Datuk Johan’s professional associations include the Malaysian Accounting Standards Board (MASB), where he was a project leader of an accounting standard. He currently serves as an EXCO and Council member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA),

Under his leadership, KPMG in Malaysia has won multiple awards including Asia Risk Awards Consulting Firm of the Year 2020, CSR Malaysia Company of the Year Award (2017–2020), Top 4 in Malaysia’s 100 Leading Graduate Employers 2020, and many others. In recognition of his Diversity and Inclusion advocacy, Datuk Johan was presented the CEO Champion award by Talent Corporation Malaysia (TalentCorp).

Datuk Bazlan Osman is currently the President of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) effective 17 June 2022.

He sits on the board of various public listed companies, namely as an Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Fima Corporation Berhad, and as Independent Non-Executive Director of Bursa Malaysia Berhad, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Keluarga Berhad, Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad and Glomac Berhad. He is also a Non-Executive Chairman of GITN Sdn Bhd, and Independent Director of Citibank Berhad.

He was formerly an Executive Director of Telekom Malaysia Berhad (TM). His last position in TM was Acting Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) and was also the Deputy GCEO. Prior to that he was the Group Chief Financial Officer of TM.

Datuk Bazlan holds a Diploma in Accounting from Polytechnic of North London and had attended senior leadership management programs at the University of Oxford’s SAID Business School, and IMD.

Datuk Bazlan is a Chartered Accountant, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). He is also the Chair of the ACCA Malaysia Advisory Committee.

Ustaz Mohd Nazri Chik, a Certified Sharia Adviser and Auditor (CSAA-AAOIFI) was the Group Chief Shariah Officer of BIMB Holdings PLC and Chief Shariah Officer of Bank Islam Malaysia. Currently he holds the position of Group Chief Financial Inclusion Officer at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad.

He holds a Master’s Degree in Sharia from University of Malaya and Certificate in Internal Auditing for Financial Institutions (CIAFIN) from Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB). He started his career as a tutor in the University until he joined Bank Islam in June 2004. He left the Bank to join Noor Investment Group, Dubai in September 2009 as its Sharia Audit Manager. During this time, he had been appointed as a member of Bank Islam’s Sharia Supervisory Council until he re-joined the Bank as its Head of Sharia in January 2011.

Ustaz Mohd Nazri Chik is also a Registered Sharia Adviser with the Securities Commission Malaysia and BIMB Securities Management LLC, Accredited Panel of Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA); Executive Committee Member of Association of Sharia Advisors Malaysia (ASAS), Distinguished Trainer for Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM), a member of Board of Directors of Terengganu Incorporated(the investment arm of Terengganu) and an academic advisor to various Islamic finance programs offered by universities in Malaysia. In May 2014, he was selected as the recipient of the ‘Promising Young Banker Award 2014’ by the Asian Banker Magazine.
